Delhi Daredevils have played two games at home so far but bereft of any home advantage. And their predicament was further highlighted during the optional net session on Monday — less than 24 hours before they play Deccan Chargers — besides the main square with two out-of-favour batsmen and a battery of fast bowlers on a green top. More so as the glare from the adjacent bald wicket at the Ferozeshah Kotla — on which they play on Tuesday — reflected not just the players but Delhi’s uncomfortable situation. Delhi Daredevils had wanted to play their home matches on the greener tracks on the either side of the main square to get mileage for their bowling unit, but were undone by logistic problems like television angles and lack of infrastructure, forcing them to revert to the placid three tracks in the centre that were prepared for the World Cup.
